Snagged a rare bottle of Italy’s first organic grape ale – BIGA from Mezzo Passo in Pescara.
Brewed using Malvasia grape must from the Abruzzo region it’s an intriguing mix of a golden, farmhouse and sour ale. Unfiltered hazy lemon colour with a sharp mineral yellow stone fruit nose, hay, honey and apricot tones and a soft, straw-dry finish.
This is one elegant Italian. If it wore clothes it would be dressed in Valentino, driving around in a Bugatti Veyron listening to Andrea Bocelli.
A bellissimo beer!
